Visa Information

Citizens from Canada, European Union, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland and the USA, among many others do not need a Visa if they plan to study and stay in Ecuador less than 90 days. They will receive on arrival a permit to stay up to 90 days with a valid passport. Check with the nearest Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Ecuador.

Arrival and Transfers

To reach Cuenca from abroad, one must first travel to Quito or Guayaquil. Many airlines fly from Europe and the US to Quito or Guayaquil at reasonable prices. The Quito or Guayaquil/Cuenca ticket must be purchased in Ecuador and the best day for arrival to Quito/Guayaquil is Saturday since it will not always be possible to connect with a Cuenca flight on the same day.

The Quito/Guayaquil/Cuenca transfer service offered by Sampere Cuenca includes:
